• 3 Skills to Up your Ceo Savvy

As the owner of a flourishing business, you need to cultivate three essential skills. While emphasis is often given to skills like reading and analyzing financial statements and how to sell with conviction, the following three skills are less spoken about and yet ultimately mark the difference between someone who is self-employed and a true visionary leader. All great business people must know how to discern a good deal from a bad deal and act on that decision, when to listen to their gut and how to set priorities. This boils down to the ability to think, feel and act. These three skills are not often addressed in a business class or even in most MBA programs thus cultivating them will truly put you among the business elite. We'll briefly explore why each of these is important and how to apply each skill to making your business flourish.

  • A Great One-liner Opens the Door for More Ideal Customers to Walk Through

Getting more clients starts with getting your foot in the door. A great one-liner can be your door man, and get more customers and partners to come in and start a relationship with your company. Before anyone is going to do business with you, they must first understand why you are in business in the first place. While this may seem obvious to you, each new person you meet needs to hear your story in a way that will make them want to be a part of it. That first simple sentence can make all the difference. A great one-liner makes you stand out from the crowd and can turn casual conversations into the beginnings of great business deals. How? A concise explanation of your company in the form of a savvy one-liner shows that you know what you do, you're clever and it will sink into the mind of your target client immediately just like a one-liner in a movie. That one memorable line that stays with you, long after the popcorn and candy have been eaten and the lights have come up. You remember the feeling that line invoked in you and it makes you want to come back for more. A great one liner, gets you your first yes, in the form of a, "Tell me more," response. That way when you start your pitch, your prospect is already hooked.

  • Choosing an Attractive Business Name

Most people don't realize it, but one of your first and most important business decisions can be picking your business name. A great name is one that attracts customers and can really give your business legs in terms of starting a buzz. Do you think Google would have created the fanatical sensation it has with a name like Search Engine USA? If you are not the creative type, then bring in others to help you to name your baby. Work with a team of advisors, family or even just some business savvy friends, but don't delegate this task completely to someone else, and especially not to a stranger or some internet naming company. A naming company is not going to understand your business or know you. If it is your business it should be a name that you like and that links back to your unique value proposition and the personality of your company. People will ask you, where did you come up with your name. This can be a golden opportunity for you to say something really brilliant and memorable, come up with a name that allows you to take this opportunity. If you are conservative, don't be persuaded into something wild, that makes you uncomfortable and if you are zany, then don't go conservative just because everyone else in your industry does. Picking a name should happen over a period of time, not in a day or an hour. Forcing creativity seldom works, so give yourself and your team time to percolate on it. Hold a series of brainstorming sessions until you are comfortable and excited about saying, seeing, hearing and owning a particular business name. During these brain storming sessions you should work through these eight rules for choosing a business name:

  • A Reason for Success in Business

Most people start into an MLM (Multi-level Marketing) or other Network Marketing company with huge thoughts of success. So what happens? Things aren’t going as well as planned; people just aren’t interested in the products or services that your company offers; you have talked to just about everyone you know and their tired of hearing about it. Then what? You throw your hands in the air and exclaim “this doesn’t work!” Maybe the person that enrolled you led you to believe that riches were just a mere days away. Maybe you thought the product or service was so phenomenal that people would have to be crazy not to join up with you. Maybe the compensation was so great that you thought everyone would just jump on board and it would avalanche into a fortune. It could be a combination of all of these.

  • What More Do you Want?

I can ask that question to any number of people and get a myriad of responses. How many people dig down deep to get an answer? Most of the time people respond from a surface level, however, there is usually something to their answer. The first response is usually the correct one.
